BLOOMINGTON – The McLean County Health Department reported 133 new cases of coronavirus (34 from Tuesday and 99 from Wednesday), bringing the total to 4,616.
There are 468 active cases, 10 people are currently hospitalized, and the rest are in home isolation, according to MCHD Administrator Jessica McKnight. The county’s rolling positivity rate inched up to 5.8%, but is still below the positivity rate in Region 2, which is 9.9%.
“The positivity rate in our county and across our region continues to rise, and we are experiencing moderate community spread,” said McKnight. “Everyone should take steps to protect themselves, their communities, and people who are at increased risk of severe illness.”
83 additional people were released from isolation, now 4,110 have recovered.
There have been 38 COVID-related deaths in the county.
