SPRINGFIELD – October is in the books for Illinois crops, and the harvest is almost done.
The USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service reports 93 percent of soybeans and 89 percent of corn are out of the ground.
Rain averaged roughly an inch, helped by a 3.5 inch rainfall in parts of southern Illinois. Average temperature last week was about 41, ten degrees cooler than normal.
