BLOOMINGTON – A Twin-Cities soccer coach badly hurt in a car-bicycle crash is no longer in intensive care.
However, Heartland Community College Assistant Men’s and Women’s Soccer Coach Norman Ramos, 26, is still hospitalized at Carle BroMenn Medical Center, according to Head Coach Jovany Macias.
Bloomington Police said they are still investigating what caused the October 21 accident at Bunn Street and Croxton Avenue, where a car collided with Ramos’ bicycle.
Police said they arrested the driver of the car, Jeremy Vandegraft, 27, of Bloomington for driving with a suspended license and for not having car insurance. He is free on bond.
Meantime, a GoFundMe page has so far raised $28,133 to help Ramos cover medical expenses. Ramos does not have health insurance, according to the GoFundMe page.
