BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington Fire Chief Brian Mohr will retire effective Nov. 16, according to City Manager Tim Gleason.
“I am truly honored to have been given the opportunity to serve in many different capacities with the Bloomington Fire department and will cherish the memories and friendships made throughout my career,” said Mohr in a news release Friday.
Mohr began his career with the Bloomington Fire Department in 1991 and has served in a variety of roles. He was promoted to Shift Commander/Assistant Chief in 2011, Training Officer in 2013, and Fire Chief in 2015. He holds an associate degree in Fire Science from Illinois Central College and a bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness from Illinois State University.
“I appreciate Chief Mohr’s nearly thirty years of service to the city and wish him the very best in his retirement,” said Gleason.
An interim fire chief will be named in the near future, according to the release.
