SPRINGFIELD – Gov. JB Pritzker Wednesday celebrated a milestone in Illinois’ fight against coronavirus: the state has performed six million tests.
“Illinois is continuously increasing our ability to test for and monitor this virus. We are now pushing an average of nearly 60,000 a day,” said Pritzker in announcing Wednesday the six millionth test came “less than three weeks after we were one of the first states to cross the five m benchmark.”
The state reported 2,630 new coronavirus cases and 42 more deaths.
