MCHD reports 20th COVID-related death

BLOOMINGTON – A 20th McLean County resident has died from COVID-19 complications.

McLean County health officials said the patient was a man in his 80s with underlying health conditions.

MCHD Administrator Jessica McKnight announced 13 new COVID cases Tuesday.

“While the total number of new cases of COVID-19 reported in McLean County in the last seven days has been decreasing we have had 1408 cases reported so far this month,” said McKnight.

The number of active cases dropped to 237, but there are now 10 people hospitalized, one in the ICU, and rest are isolating at home.

An additional 365 people have been released from isolation, now 2,918 residents have recovered. The county’s rolling positivity rate also inched down to 3.9%.
