Bloomington Schnucks recalls fresh ground beef

BLOOMINGTON – Schnucks is recalling fresh ground beef purchased July 23 from the service meat case at its Bloomington store located at 1701 East Empire Street. The product may contain metal shaving caused by an equipment malfunction.

Affected products include:

  • Fresh Ground Round
  • Extra Lean Ground
  • Fresh Ground Sirloin
  • Fresh Ground Chuck

Customers who purchased Schnucks fresh ground beef with a sell-by date of July 24, 2020 should return the product to the store for a full refund or exchange. Currently, there have been no reported illnesses or injuries, and this is an isolated incident that does not affect any other stores.
