Gas prices have fallen 1.6 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.29 per gallon today.
GasBuddy.com’s daily survey shows prices in Illinois are 6.9 cents per gallon higher than a month ago but are sitting 64.5 cents per gallon lower than a year ago.
Last year at this time – gas was $2.94 per gallon – in 2017 the price was $2.24 and in 2011 we were digging deep into our pockets and paying, on average, $3.81 for a gallon of gas.
