BLOOMINGTON – A small oven explosion Tuesday afternoon at Tobin’s Pizza in Bloomington injured two workers.
Bloomington Fire Department spokesperson Eric Davison said the employees were trying to ignite the pilot light in the oven when it flashed and created a very small explosion.
Davison said the two employees suffered burns and were taken to a local hospital. The seriousness of their injuries is unknown.
Davison said the small explosion caused no real damage to the restaurant, but Tobin’s closed the doors Tuesday due to the oven malfunction.
