SPRINGFIELD – Gov. JB Pritzker Thursday unveiled a new employment tool at his daily coronavirus briefing.
It connects jobs with people who want jobs.
“This online portal also serves as a hub for Illinoisans to access new skills training opportunities and employer-hosted job fairs,” Pritzker said of Get Hired Illinois, at www.illinois.gov/gethired.
And the director of the Illinois Department of Public Health, Dr. Ngozi Ezike, says the rise in coronavirus cases is a function of the rise in tests. “No one in the country has captured all of the cases of COVID-19,” she said. “They have captured cases for which people have been tested, and not everybody has been tested. So it is a credit that we have been able to ramp up testing throughout the state.”
People following the progress of Restore Illinois might find some good news in the fact that all four of the state’s regions are now below 20 percent positivity. All it takes now is to maintain that progress the next couple of weeks for those regions to get to Phase Three.
Illinois has 87,937 coronavirus cases and 3,928 deaths.
