BLOOMINGTON – A man is hospitalized in critical condition after a motorcycle crash Sunday night on Veterans Parkway.

Bloomington Police were called around 6:15 p.m. to Veterans Parkway near the South Main Street intersection.

When BPD arrived, officers learned that a motorcycle had struck the rear end of another vehicle at a high rate of speed. The man driving the motorcycle was transported from the scene to OSF St. Joseph’s Emergency Room for his injuries. BPD said as of Sunday night, the driver of the motorcycle was stable, but in critical condition. His current condition is unknown.

The driver of the motorcycle was issued two citations as a result of the accident, according to BPD.  The driver of the other vehicle remained on scene, was not injured, and was released from the scene without a citation or arrest.

Officers blocked off parts of Veterans Parkway and rerouted traffic for several hours while BPD’s accident reconstruction team conducted its investigation.

The crash remains under investigation.  Anyone with information should contact BPD dispatch at 309-820-8888.

Pritzker, recall another Illinois Governor who protested the incursion of armed federal personnel into the city.   Those federal troops, rather than calming, escalated the situation, leading to deaths and violence. Illinois poet Vachel Lindsay…

In these troubled times, to my fellow white Americans

By Mike Matejka Our nation is at a unique watershed in human relations. African-Americans have been killed too many times in the past before George Floyd, but the response to this man’s death is international and all-encompassing. I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
