BLOOMINGTON – There are now 20 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in McLean County.
The McLean County Health Department announced two new cases, a male and female both in their 60’s.
“I am happy to report that we have five cases that are recovered, meaning they are off isolation and no longer infectious,” said McLean County Communicable Disease Supervisor Melissa Graven. “We have seven that continue to be in-home isolation; we have three (in the hospital), one person in the hospital in the ICU, and our two additional cases we are still investigating.”
Graven added that the connection of the two new COVID-19 cases is still under investigation.
“As far as we determined, we weren’t able to link them to a known case of COVID-19. But, what I think needs to underscore is that we have community transmission in McLean County. And no longer is a risk going to be identified, we are all at some risk when we leave our homes. We are at a point in this pandemic that we need to assume that every person we are interacting with does have or could have COVID-19.”
So far, McLean County Communication Specialist Dion McNeal said 109 COVID-19 test have been conducted at the McLean County Fairgrounds.
At his daily press briefing, Gov. Pritzker announced the state total of COVID-19 cases stands at 6,980, including 141 deaths.
