NORMAL – The Midwest Food Bank is getting a donation to help programs across Illinois and Indiana.
The Kroger Co. Foundation donated $45,000 to the food bank in January, according to a news release. The money will go towards Midwest Food Bank’s Hope Pack and food procurement programs. The Hope Pack program helps ensure children have nutritious meals when they are out of school for the weekend.
“Kroger has a long history of partnership with Midwest Food Bank to support those suffering from Food Insecurity,” said Jada Hoerr, Development & Relations Director of Midwest Food Bank.
“We know many Indiana and Illinois families struggle to put food on the table,” said Colleen Juergensen, president of Kroger Central Division. “We want them and their families to thrive, so we are grateful for the opportunity to work with Midwest Food Bank.”
Midwest Food Bank has 10 locations, eight in the United States, and one each in Haiti and East Africa.
