Bloomington man charged with aggravated sexual assault pleads not guilty

BLOOMINGTON – A Bloomington surgeon facing several sexual assault charges pleaded not guilty to all counts against him in McLean County court Friday.

News partner HOI ABC reports one of the charges against Shaun Kink, 34, is aggravated criminal sexual assault of a handicapped person, a Class X felony. He is also facing felony charges of criminal sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual assault and criminal sexual abuse.

Kink’s attorney Peter Wise did not comment on the plea, but said they are going to try the case and work for “the best possible outcome.”

Kink will return to court March 2 for a status hearing.

Kink was arrested January 15 by Bloomington police on charges stemming from a December 5, 2019 incident that involved an adult female and alleged forced oral sex.
