BLOOMINGTON – A Bloomington man was arrested for a hold up Tuesday night on the city’s east side.

Jarrod Williams, 40, was taken into custody around 1:50 Wednesday morning.

Bloomington Police said Williams entered a hotel around 8:10 p.m. Tuesday in the 600 block of IAA Drive and showed a gun. Police said Williams demanded money from an employee and left with an undisclosed amount of cash. Nobody was injured.

Authorities were then called to the 2000 block of Rainbow Avenue for an unrelated disorderly conduct call.  During the call officers located Williams holding a gun.

While Williams was being taken into custody he resisted and was tased, according to police. A BPD officer sustained a minor hand injury during the arrest.

Williams faces charges for the armed robbery and resisting/obstructing an officer.

He is being held in the McLean County jail. No bond information is available.

African-Americans have been killed too many times in the past before George Floyd, but the response to this man’s death is international and all-encompassing. I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
