BLOOMINGTON – The unemployment rate in Bloomington-Normal is down a full point compared to November 2018.
The Illinois Department of Employment Security said the jobless rate dropped to 3.1% in the Twin-Cities. Over the year the unemployment rate went down in 13 metro areas.
While unemployment was down, job growth was unchanged in Bloomington-Normal at 93,500.
Jobs were up in nine metro areas, including Champaign-Urbana which added 3,800 jobs and Springfield was up 1,000. Over the year Peoria lost 1,800 positions.
