BLOOMINGTON – As the weather turns colder, people tend to drive less and AAA is seeing less gasoline demand.

The AAA Weekly Fuel Gauge shows prices are less expensive this week, with the national average at $2.55. AAA said in the lead up to the holidays there may be a small spike in demand, but not enough to impact gas prices substantially.

Locally, gas prices Monday in the Twin-Cities are $2.54, the same compared to last month, but 46 cents more expensive compared to this time last year.

Other prices include $2.52 in Champaign, $2.59 in Peoria and in Springfield a gallon of gas costs $2.60.

Illinois poet Vachel Lindsay…

I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
