BLOOMINGTON – A local organization has an update on its Christmas fundraising campaign and so far donations are behind where they were last year.
The Salvation Army of McLean County has a goal to raise $520,000 during its “Christmas Campaign.”
As of Monday, the organization said it has received $81,258 in the red kettles. Including other donations, the campaign has received $198,226 or 38% of its goal. That is 8% behind the campaign goal at this time last year, according to a news release.
The organization says funds raised through the “Christmas Campaign” support local programs throughout the year in the Twin-Cities.
The Red Kettle Fund-Raising Campaign ends on Dec. 24.
