Local man arrested after shots fired incident in Normal

NORMAL – A man from Normal was arrested Monday morning after multiple shots were fired near an apartment complex.

Demetrius Dawson, 18, was taken into custody and faces several weapons and drug charges, according to Normal Police.

Police were called around 6:45 a.m. to the Lincoln Square Apartments in the 1700 block of North School Street.

After an investigation, authorities said they found evidence a shooting happened. Nobody was injured.

Dawson was taken to the McLean County jail.  No bond information is available.
