SPRINGFIELD – The departure of Illinois Senate President John Cullerton (D-Chicago) sets off a domino effect.
With many senators interested in becoming president, there’s also the matter of who would succeed Cullerton in representing his Northwest Side Chicago district.
Politico reports longtime State Rep. Sara Feigenholtz (D-Chicago), a former Cullerton staffer, has enough support in the district to earn the appointment to the Senate.
In a text message, the other representative in that district, Ann Williams (D-Chicago), says she chairs the energy committee and the lead on clean energy legislation and wants to see that through.
