BPD: Washington Street closed after car hits power pole

BLOOMINGTON – Authorities say Ameren crews are working to fix a power pole that was hit by a car Wednesday morning in Bloomington.

Bloomington Police said at about 9:30 a.m., a vehicle crashed into a power pole on Washington Street, near Perrin Avenue.

Minor injuries were reported, however Ameren estimates it will be approximately four hours until the pole is fixed and the road is open, according to police.  Authorities are asking motorists to find an alternate route.
