NORMAL – The Midwest Food Bank is helping flood-ravaged communities in Texas by sending disaster relief.
The organization sent 960 family food boxes and hygiene kits Monday afternoon from the Twin-Cities to Beaumont, Texas.

Each family food box contains enough food to feed a family of four for four to five days. The food bank said it has four loads of disaster relief ready to deliver.
“Volunteers interested in packing disaster relief boxes should watch Midwest Food Bank Bloomington-Normal’s Facebook page for information,” said Tara Ingham, executive director of the location.
Midwest Food Bank has ten locations, eight in the United States, and one each in Haiti and East Africa.
