BLOOMINGTON – A McLean County board member has resigned because he moved from the district he’s represented for the past three years.
District 2 representative Scott Murphy is a Republican, so the person appointed to fill the remaining year in Murphy’s term must also be from the GOP.
Murphy told WJBC he’s moved from Downs to Bloomington, just outside the district’s boundary.
District 2 covers southeast McLean County.
Candidates to replace Murphy have until July 3 to turn in applications and resumes at the county administrator’s office.
