BLOOMINGTON – McLean County Sheriff’s Police reported six people were hurt late Monday afternoon, including one person taken by helicopter to an Urbana hospital, after a crash near Colfax.

Police were called about 4:45 p.m. to County Rd. 3300 E., where a car and a sport utility vehicle collided on the two-lane roadway just south of Colfax.

Police said a LifeFlight helicopter transported one person, who was riding in the car, to Urbana’s Carle Foundation Hospital. That person’s condition is not available.

Police said five other people with less serious injuries were taken to Twin-City hospitals.

A sheriff’s department accident reconstructionist was investigating what caused the crash.

Colfax Police and fire crews also helped at the scene.

Illinois poet Vachel Lindsay…

COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
