BLOOMINGTON – A man the defense suggests should not have been excluded as the suspect in Pam Zimmerman’s murder took the stand Monday in the trial of Zimmerman’s former husband.
Eldon Whitlow is also believed to be the last person to see Pam alive because he had an appointment with the Bloomington financial planner in her office where she was shot to death in November 2014.
Whitlow owned a 9 mm firearm, the exact make of the gun used to kill Pam, however Bloomington Police said they determined Whitlow’s gun was not used.
Police questioned Whitlow the day after the killing by fewer officers than were used to interrogate murder defendant Kirk Zimmerman.
Police got a warrant to examine Whitlow’s gun two days after the murder, but not before Whitlow said he wanted to speak to a lawyer.
