Stephen Charles Penn, 57 of Morton, passed away on March 23 at Apostolic Christian Timber Ridge after a lengthy illness.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at Epiphany Catholic Church, 1002 E. College Ave, Normal, IL on Saturday, March 30, at 11 a.m. Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m. prior to the funeral. Inurnment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery following the funeral.

Steve was born January 8, 1962, in Bloomington, IL. He is survived by his parents, Charles and Carolyn Penn, two sisters, Kelly (Chuck) Burns and Julie Beres, 2 nephews and 2 nieces, Jordan, Katie, Eric, and Laura. Also surviving are two aunts, Charlotte Miller and Dixie Penn, and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Steve lived at home until he was 32, and at that time he moved to Timber Ridge. He made many new friends there, as well as re-connecting with a former schoolmate, Kim White.
He was a happy person all his life and enjoyed many different activities. He kept busy with Special Olympics, swimming, bowling, music programs and church services. He especially liked art programs which included painting and ceramics. He loved coming to his parent’s home on weekends for many years, and also loved visits at Timber Ridge from his parents and sisters.
Steve’s family is very grateful to all the staff and administration at Timber Ridge for the loving and excellent care he received and everything they did to help him enjoy a happy life.
