BLOOMINGTON – The Libertarian candidate for the District 7 seat on the McLean County Board has withdrawn from the ballot.
Bennett Morris says he has accepted a job in Chicago after living in McLean County for the past 20 years. He will remain as Illinois Libertarian Party chairman, a position he’s held since April after serving two years as the party’s McLean County chairman.
Morris pointed to bringing the Libertarians into established party status in McLean County as his proudest accomplishment.
Morris said he would not endorse either of his former opponents.
District 7 covers a section of eastern Bloomington roughly centered on Veterans Parkway and Empire Street.
