Streator woman dead, 3 in custody after shooting

STREATOR – Three suspects are in police custody after a woman was shot and killed Tuesday night in Streator.

Maria Delatorre, 33, was pronounced dead at the OSF Center for Health in Streator after police responded to a report of shots fired in the 200 block of West Ninth Street.

After the shooting occurred, a Livingston County Sheriff’s deputy saw a vehicle, matching the description of the suspect’s vehicle, traveling on Route 17.

The vehicle crashed near Routes 17 and 66 in Dwight.

One suspect was caught and hours later two others were captured after they all fled on foot.

Streator police have not released the name of the three suspects in custody.

The shooting is still under investigation.
