DIXON – State Police are learning more details about the man who allegedly shot at a school resource officer.
Matthew Milby, 19, allegedly exchanged gunfire with a Dixon High School resource officer yesterday morning. The officer reportedly shot Milby in the shoulder. The weapon Milby used, a 9mm semi-automatic rifle, was allegedly bought by his mother in 2012. Police are working to determine how the gun came into Milby’s possession.
Milby was released from the hospital around 10:30 this morning and was transported to the Lee County Jail with a $2 million bond, where he awaits arraignment.
State Police continue to investigate the incident.
