BLOOMINGTON – The McLean County Chamber of Commerce has opened a new facility to serve as a creative work space for entrepreneurs and mobile employees.
Chamber of Commerce president and CEO Charlie Moore said the BN ShareSpace at 2203 East Empire Street has resources and services for people to develop their business ventures.
“We have standing stations, sitting stations, conference room space, a phone booth, all kinds of different ways for people to utilize the space,” Moore explained. “After two weeks we hope people get a feel for how we’ll work for their schedules and businesses.”
Moore also said with the ShareSpace now open, he wants to monitor the facility to find the best ways to expand its resources.
“At some point if we wanted to put programming in here in some way shape or form, whether it’s education programming or other types of activities or opportunities for small businesses and our entrepreneurs, and just monitor the utilization,” explained Moore. “Once we have an idea of how it’s being used, that’ll help us determine how else we want to program this space.”
The ShareSpace will be open to the public for two weeks before a membership is needed to use the facility. Information on how to become a member can be found at bnshare.space.
