BLOOMINGTON – State Farm announced plans to sell its 89 year old downtown building at 112 East Washington Street.
In a statement, State Farm said the process of selling the original headquarters built in phases between 1929 to 1947, is “in the early stages…and details have not been finalized.”
The downtown building is approximately 200 thousand square feet and served as the company’s headquarters until 1974.
State Farm said it plans to “remove and preserve items of historical value and…consider ways to honor that part of the company’s heritage.”
