NORMAL – After unveiling the first two finalists in its presidential search, Heartland Community College has announced the third candidate for the job.
Sherry Jones, Chief Operating Officer for GameStop’s Technology Brands Division, will tour the campus on Thursday and Friday.
Prior to joining GameStop in 2016, Jones worked as Group President of Education Services for XEROX, Managing Director for GLC Solutions, and Executive Director for Beam Reach Education. As a school administrator, she served as VP of Operations and Dean of Independence University for five years and Site Director for Salt Lake City/Tooele Applied Technology College for six years.
There will be a Community and Alumni open session from 11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Astroth Community Education Center, where the public can meet Jones.
Current Heartland president Rob Widmer is set to retire in June.
