BLOOMINGTON – Justin Timberlake makes his return to the Super Bowl halftime stage tonight, but that won’t stop millions of people from making the big flush when the Eagles and the Patriots head for their locker rooms.
It’s partially true that sewage systems break because so many people go to the bathroom at halftime. Eric Haney, of A-1 Haney Plumbing, said he does not see an increase of sewer main breaks on game day.
However, he knows first hand bathrooms are packed during halftime.
“I was at the Super Bowl when the Bears played [Indianapolis] and I missed Prince just so I could go to the bathroom. My wife thought I was crazy but, ya know, you gotta do what you gotta do,” Haney added.
Haney said the real problem is with garbage disposals in the sink. He said rice and pastas tend to swell and cause clogging.
