NORMAL – Heartland Community College reports 50 candidates have applied to be the school’s next president.
The deadline to apply was January 16. A presidential search advisory committee is reviewing the applications and will contact the first round of finalists in the coming weeks.
The college says finalists will visit the Normal campus in late February and early March. Those finalists will participate in open forums for campus employees as well as a forum open to the public.
Current Heartland President Rob Widmer will retire on June 30, and the next president will begin in July.
