NORMAL – The search for the person who will hold the top academic post at Illinois State University has come down to four finalists.
ISU President Larry Dietz Wednesday announced the candidates who will appear for open forums on campus next month for vice president of academic affairs and provost.
Risa Dickson is a professor in the College of Education at the University of Hawaii, where she recently service as vice president for academic planning and policy.
Steve Everett is dean of the College of Architecture, Design, and the Arts at the University of Illinois-Chicago.
The other two finalists are Rodney Hanley, provost and vice president for academic affairs at Fisk University in Nashville, and Lynda Brown-Wright, professor of psychology at Kentucky State University. Brown-Wright recently served there as vice president for Academic Affairs.
ISU’s previous provost, Janet Krejci, left in late 2016 to become head of Marquette University’s nursing school. Jan Murphy has served as the interim provost since then.
