UPDATE: Woman badly hurt in Tazewell County crash

TAZEWELL COUNTY – A young woman is in critical condition after a crash between her car and a box truck in eastern Tazewell County on Wednesday.

Deer Creek Fire Rescue and the Eureka-Goodfield Fire Protection District worked to remove her from the vehicle on Dee Mack Road.

According to updates on a CaringBridge site, that driver was Jamie Schick. She was taken by LifeFlight to Peoria’s OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.

According to her Facebook profile, Schick is an employee at OSF.

A post on the CaringBridge site says Schick has undergone surgery, but still has internal bleeding, among several other injuries.

An Illinois State Police crash reconstruction team is investigating.
