Local police departments host prescription drug take-back day

BLOOMINGTON – Police departments across Illinois and United States are taking part in the National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday.

“Help keep our water supply and our population safe by dropping off expired or unused prescription medications,” Bloomington Police spokesman Elias Mendiola said.

The BPD lobby has a prescription drop-off box open to the public year around Monday – Friday, 8 a.m.-11 p.m.

The U.S. Department of Justice lists these police agencies in McLean County that are taking part in the program.

Bloomington Police Department, 305 S. East St.
El Paso Police Department, 540 E. Main St.
Heyworth Police Department, 108 S. Buchanan St.
LeRoy Police Department, 207 S. East St.
Normal Police Department, 100 E. Phoenix Ave.
McLean County Sheriff’s Office, 104 W. Front St., Bloomington
Stanford Police Department, 210 W. Main St.
