Police were called at about 10 p.m. to Graham and Mason streets. Witnesses reported a thin black man about 18 to 20 years old with dreadlocks tried to punch another person, and a short time later shots were fired from a black Chevrolet Impala that drove by the location.
Officers say they did not find evidence of gunshots. No injuries or arrests were reported.
Anyone with information is asked to call Detective McClusky at 434-2380 or Crimestoppers for a possible cash reward at 828-1111.

Several hours later, police received a report of a man who was treated at OSF Saint Joseph Medical Center for a gunshot wound to the neck. He told officers he was walking near the Vernon Avenue location when he was struck. He was treated and released.
