BLOOMINGTON – An Illinois State University student who suffered the loss of his apartment over the weekend due to a major fire now looks to GoFundMe to help reclaim his life.
The fire erupted in an east-side apartment complex which left several units damaged Saturday.
“When talking to the fire investigator, he told us that our apartment took the worst of the smoke damage.” Tyler Neibarger said on the site.
The fire started in the complex’s first floor in the 300 block of Mecherle Drive. The Bloomington Fire Department was able to contain the fire to a single unit and control the fire in 30 minutes.
Neibarger is still looking to replace many of the possessions lost over the weekend stressing, “We lost basically everything we owned… anything will help us.”
