Boy hospitalized after being hit by car in Bloomington

BLOOMINGTON – A boy was taken to the hospital after he was hit by a car in Bloomington Tuesday afternoon.

Police closed Clearwater Avenue near Holder Way for an hour after the 5 p.m. crash. Police said the boy reportedly got out of a car and stepped into the path of a car that he apparently didn’t see coming.

Police say the boy was alert as he was taken to OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington, but his condition isn’t known.

Police haven’t released any further information about the boy or the driver who has not been ticketed.
