McLean County property taxes due Sept. 1

BLOOMINGTON – McLean County Collector Rebecca McNeil is reminding property owners that second installment taxes are due Sept. 1.

Late payments will be assessed an interest penalty of 1.5 percent per month. Payments are accepted in the Government Center at 115 E. Washington Street, Bloomington during regular business hours.

The office also continues to collect delinquent first installment real estate and mobile home taxes. Delinquent taxes are currently subject to an interest penalty of 4.5 percent through Sept. 1. Delinquent mobile home taxes face a $50 penalty through Aug. 15.

On Oct. 26, the McLean County Collector will petition the Circuit Court for a judgment order to sell all outstanding real estate and mobile home taxes on Oct. 27.

Taxpayers may contact the McLean County Treasurer’s office at (309) 888-5180 if they have questions about the payment of their property taxes.
