Former Bloomington resident dies after Colorado motorcycle accident

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – A former Bloomington resident has died after a vehicle struck the motorcycle he was riding on Friday in Colorado.

Austin Sherwood was 25. According to a GoFundMe page established for his family, Sherwood was driving to his bartending job on Friday in Fort Collins when a vehicle turned in his path. Sherwood was removed from life support on Saturday and was pronounced dead shortly after 5 p.m.

The GoFundMe page says Sherwood graduated from Central Catholic High School in 2010 and served five years in the Marine Corps.

Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home in Bloomington is in charge of arrangements.
