BLOOMINGTON – OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington is getting an upgrade that could save lives.

OSF HealthCare made a decision to renovate its Wound Care Clinic a few months ago.

The renovation made room fro two hyperbaric oxygen chambers.

The goal of the chambers is to fill the blood with enough oxygen to repair tissues and restore body function.

“Our Wound Care Clinic is a big part of the practice and extending the continuing care of all our patients that have a lot of chronic problems, and some of the associated complications of non-healing wounds,” said Lamont Tyler, regional director for special practices at OSF HealthCare.

OSF hopes this renovation will help make its procedures more efficient.

I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

Looking around our community, when we say employer, most will respond to State Farm, Country, or Illinois State University.   We too often forget those who are building our roads, serving our food, or our public employees. COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
