BLOOMINGTON – When National Guardsman Sgt. Sean Roy is serving his country, his co-workers have his back at the office.
Roy, who works in the Country Financial Central Claims office in Bloomington, nominated his office supervisor for a recognition given to those who support those in the Guard and Reserve when they’re on duty.
As a result of the nomination, Brett Coonrod of Country Financial was honored with the Patriot Award for outstanding support of the National Guard and Reserve. A graduate of Illinois State University, Coonrod joined Country Financial in 2005 and has served as Supervisor of the Central Claims Office since 2010.
The award serves as a public thank you for the support nominators receive in the workplace.
“I’m honored to be named for the Patriot Award,” Coonrod said. “Even though I’m the one accepting the award, it really is for the entire team. The CCO works together each and every day to take care of the customer. When Sean is off honoring his commitment to his country, our claims team works together to honor our commitment to the customer. I’m extremely proud of my team’s effort as well as the entire CCO.”
The Patriot Award is given to individual supervisors, not to an entire staff, department or organization as a whole.
