BLOOMINGTON – A Bloomington man, who held up a woman on Constitution Trail last fall, has been sentenced to 8 1/2-years in prison for his guilty plea.
Loren Ford was carrying a BB gun when he robbed the woman and stole her cell phone on the trail in September of last year. She was not injured and police arrested Ford a short time later in Franklin Park.
Ford admitted to the crime without a deal with prosecutors on a sentence. McLean County Judge Scott Drazewski handed down the 8 1/2-year sentence after State’s Attorney Jason Chambers recommended a decade behind bars and Ford’s lawyer requested a four-year term.
Chambers said Ford’s criminal history included an attempted home invasion conviction.
