BLOOMINGTON – Nude photographs, supposedly of former students at Bloomington High School, are featured on image boards of a website in which anonymous users can solicit and trade photos.
An investigation by Chicago’s NBC television affiliate revealed logos of 67 Illinois high schools, including BHS, posted on the image boards of the Anon-IB website.
NBC-5 reports many users request pictures using a woman’s full name and graduating class. Some of the posts, the TV station said, asked for generic “wins,” or nude photos, of former students of a high school.
District 87 Superintendent Barry Reilly said administrators turned over to Bloomington Police an e-mail from the TV station detailing the investigation’s findings.
Reilly said this is the first time he’s heard of the matter, but if true, he said it’s a “deplorable” case. The district teaches all grade levels appropriate internet use, said Reilly. All district devices have filters, he said, including those provided to more than 600 kids receiving free access at home.
Besides BHS, the NBC affiliate found nude photos allegedly of former students from Fieldcrest High School in Minonk, Eureka, and East Peoria high schools.
