AFGHANISTAN – A soldier from Bloomington was one of two U.S. service members killed in Afghanistan.
“Two U.S. service members were killed in action last night in southern Nangarhar, Afghanistan, during an operation against ISIS Khorasan,” said Pentagon spokesman Navy Captain Jeff Davis.
A third service member was wounded in the clashes.
One of those killed was Josh Rodgers, a Bloomington native and 2013 graduate of Normal Community High School. Rodgers’ sister confirmed the family’s loss, but the Department of Defense has not confirmed the names of the deceased.
