NORMAL – A year-long child pornography investigation led to the arrest of a man from Normal who’s suspected of possessing thousands of pictures and videos of youngsters. Detectives from Normal and the Bloomington police cyber crimes unit arrested Carthell Nibbelin, 35, who used to live in the 1400 block of East College in Normal.
Authorities say they seized the more than 2,400 images and videos of child pornography at Nibbelin’s residence in March of last year. Citing the age of the victims, police are not releasing other information. Nibbelin is in the McLean County Jail on $100,000 bond. For Nibbelin to be released, he would have to post 10% of his bail or $10,000.
