CLINTON – A Clinton man was arrested on Wednesday after police say they found moonshine and meth operations.
Illinois State Police say Richard Gharrett, 32, has been charged with unlawful possession of methamphetamine manufacturing materials. DeWitt County prosecutors say additional charges could be filed.
Gharrett is being held in the DeWitt County Jail pending a bond hearing.
Gharrett’s wife told WAND-TV News in Decatur her husband posted on Facebook he had moonshine to sell, which may have led to the police search and arrest. She said moonshine laws are different in Kentucky where they couple is originally from.
