BLOOMINGTON – Cathy Coverston Anderson has been appointed interim McLean County Health Department director.

The McLean County Board of Health made the announcement Wednesday morning. Board of Health President Judy Buchanan said in a news release they are confident in Coverston Anderson’s “knowledge and experience in the field of public health.”

The health department expects the board to soon begin its search for a permanent director to replace Walt Howe, who announced his retirement last week. Coverston Anderson has been an Assistant Administrator for the Health Department since 2009.
